It was announced on Friday evening that I will be going to South Africa. All we have to do is get a letter from my consultant saying it is okay for me to fly and my dad has to ask the insurance company a few questions. It means a lot to me to be able to go and our God is so amazing, he has set everything out to allow this to happen.

£20,000
We have reached our total of £20,000 and to you all I say a massive thank you. Please don’t stop there because we want and we need more. We are now trying to raise a further £5,000 which will go back into the projects we hope to complete in Africa. You have helped to get us this far and I know you will help us go the next step and this will make all the difference to us. Thank you all again.

What been Happening
What can I say these last 6 months we’ve all been on a rollercoaster? Let me take you back to the 24th step nice day and we were in B&M Bangor bag packing like we’ve done in the past number of weeks and I, Leah Batchelor, felt really ill and ended up taken a major stroke and I lost all movement in my body from eyes down. I’m the only person that knew how to run this website so we’ve been a bit short of updates in recent months due to this website been the last thing on peoples minds and the fact that I forgot the passwords.
Anyhow I’m still in Hospital but I have regained some movement in my left hand and this means I can start to update the site again via my iPad.
However even though the site hasn’t been updated the fundraising has been going well. We’ve achieved £17,911. A lot can happen in 6 months. On Saturday 24th March we had probable one of our biggest fundraising event to date. It was a concert by Adrian. It was such a magical night and the atmosphere was breath taking. It was brilliant being part of that night because I was let out of hospital for a few hours to attend. A massive £1245 was raised and we would like to say thank You to everyone who got involved and attended.
Another big fundraiser was our collection at ravin hill over 3 games we raised a massive £1492. I think the last thing I said before the stroke hit me was to announce the beetle drive that took place in October. Once again a big thank you to everyone that attended and we managed to raise £312.
There has been many other fundraising events from Beauty & Fish, Dance, cinema, and Skating evenings. We also held some Lunch partied, everyone been working like busy bees. We’ve so close now to our final total but we want to go above and beyond that total. Really the more that we raise the more we can do.
Look at photos on the photo page to see what has going on at some of our events.
It is great to be able to be involved again and I appreciate every prayer that has been said for me and please keep them going.

SA Team
Minus one member of the team (Audrey) this is how we look now. It was great to be back with the team they have been working so hard over the past months raising funds anyway they could. Unfortunately I can’t be as involved as I want but at least now I can do my part by keeping everyone informed of future plans. Well done girls and keep going we’re almost there.
